A day in Kyoto

today, we woke up at around 14:00, and ate breakfast at 15:00. We didn't sleep much last night, I dont know why.. maybe yetlag? I was lying in my bed wide awake most of the night. Since we got up so late, we decided not to visit any temples or do anything that takes a lot of time. We went out to explore Kyoto a bit instead.

 

Walking close by our apartment. It's SO hot outside! The hostel has airconditioner eveyrwhere, so walking outside really feels like entering a sauna.

 

Schoolgirls!

 We went to starbucks for some lunch. It was reallly good, exept from the icetea! They used regular black tea, and added ice... they did the same with my friends icecoffee...black coffee with ice in it. yum....

 

Joachim! I found a macaroon! "yatta!" Tastes a bit like norwegian "kransekake".

 

We then went to Kyoto tower. This is their mascot..supposed to be the tower we were in.

This picture was taken around 18:00..even though it is really hot here, the sun goes down early.

  

The people here are very helpful. This lady tried to explain us that we could put our cameras in front of the binoculars to get a better zoom. XD We could see really pretty temples and statues in the landscape through the binoculars.

OMG, more mascots!

 

After being in kyoto tower, we went to find some food. Since it's so hot here, it's really hard to eat - expecially since there are so much "unknown" food here. 

 

What's this for example?.. :o   oshietekudasai ne~

 

 I tried eating these dangos here earlier. Cute ne? Just like you see in anime. I don't really know what to say about the taste.

 

We really want to go see "beauy and the beast", but we don't really know where we can go to see the show XD We asked some people, but none of them knew.. >_>''

 

Because of the heat, we got tired fast, and went back to the hostel around 19:00. Everything looks so different here when it's dark.

I really loooove these vending machines! They are at about every corner, and a bottle/can is only about 10NOK. 

 

  

Feels nice to be back at a place with aircondition! This is our hostel reception.

Right now I'm sitting here by this japanese style table. This is one of the common rooms. Really nice atmosphere, and the people seems nice aswell.
